After they had left the patio, Stangl appeared from behind a protruding wall, a giant scowl on his face. “What a nosey Grandmother,” he muttered to himself while he picked up the tray with the teacups and Belfont’s empty cocktail glass. “Why is she asking all those questions about me? I’ll teach her not to stick her stuffy, old nose in matters that are none of her business.” He stared at Molly Gertrude through the window, casting her an angry stare. If looks could kill, Molly Gertrude would have gone up to heaven that very moment.

Belfont saw him cleaning up the cups through the glass and stuck up his thumb to indicate he was pleased. Stangl forced a smile on his face while giving his employer a nod. Then he turned and disappeared again behind the wall carrying the tray. But the parrots, starlings and all the other nearby birds could still hear him say a curse that would have made Molly Gertrude’s ears sizzle. “Let’s make life miserable for the old hag.”
